Wednesday 15 May 2024, marks the day of partnership between Environs Te Uri Hau, Naumai marae, Infratec and NewPower. Infratec finished building a solar farm in Naumai early this year, named Naumai Solar Farm.
Infratec and NewPower approached Te Uri o Hau and Naumai Marae whānau to collaborate on the construction of the project. This was a unique opportunity for Naumai marae, Te Uri o Hau, Infratec and NewPower to strengthen respective capacity, and shape collective values, which incorporate Mātauranga Māori principles and solutions during the construction of the solar farm.
The project has the potential to bring mutual benefit to our people and build a strong foundation for a long-term relationship going forward.
