Our Ngā Maunga Tapu team took a trip out to Te Kura Kaupapa Māori o Ngāringaomatariki, where we educated their tauira on the importance of Kauri, and how we can prevent the spread of Kauri Dieback in the Ngāhere.
The day consisted of VR headsets, games and classic sausage sizzles.
It is so important that we not only teach our younger generation about the significance of Kauri, but teach them the whakapapa too, because keeping those stories alive is what keeps the fire burning .
