Key Objectives of Environs Te Uri o Hau

  • Resource Consent Management

At Environs Te Uri o Hau, we efficiently process resource consent applications within our Area of Interest. Our approach ensures that each application supports our dedication to sustainable practices and respects cultural values.

  • Collaborative Engagement for Conservation

We collaborate closely with the Department of Conservation, local community groups, and environmental organisations to enhance the conservation and management of culturally and environmentally significant lands within our rohe.

  • Raising Awareness of Cultural and Environmental Values

Through lands acquired under claims settlement, we showcase examples of culturally sensitive environmental management. We aim to enhance awareness of conservation and cultural values through our initiatives.

  • Customary Fisheries Management

We develop policies and oversee the governance of Te Uri o Hau Customary Fisheries within the Rohe Moana o Te Uri o Hau. Our management practices ensure the sustainable use and protection of our marine resources.

Our Role

Ka mau tonu ngā taonga tapu o ngā mātua tūpuna koinei ngā taonga i tuku iho.
